The computer desktop is also known as the Graphical User Interface, GUI. The GUI is the primary display screen of a graphical user interface, on which various icons represent files, groups of files, programs can be moved, accessed, added to, put away, or thrown away in ways similar to the handling of file folders, documents, notes on a real desk. The desktop is the part of the computer that you can see everything on. There are many different kinds of desktops. The newest to technology is the touch screen desktop.
